The island of Gotland is 3 hours off the coast of Sweden and they have developed a style of stranded colorwork that incorporates motifs and colors that were borrowed from other cultures around the Baltic Sea. The colorwork incorporates geometric, floral, and representational motifs and color charts are used to work the color patterns. These patterns are fun to knit and fun to wear. You will receive a yarn kit containing yarn spun from the longwool of Swedish Gotland sheep, several charted color patterns and a traditional style knitting pattern for a hat to work on in class.
